I have been the owner and operator of Wadley’s Smash Repair business for over 40 years in Rockingham. My husband and I started the business in 1972 and over the years gradually built it up to be a very successful and respected business that employs 11 full time staff.
After a long battle with cancer, my husband passed away in 2008. I am focused on continual improvement and customer satisfaction. I work in and on the business on a daily basis with all the challenges that are involved in this industry.
They say behind every good man is a woman and particularly more so in our industry. Women working diligently in the background, achieving fantastic results for the businesses.
I have served the industry in many capacities including the MTA Body Repair Committee and twice over the years as Past Chairperson since 1995. I have been involved in various other committees on behalf of the MTA over a period of time.
I was asked to join the MTA Board of Management in April, 2000 and continued until the end of 2013. Like business, there needs to be a continual renewal of ideas evolving.
I was approached by members of the industry to nominate for a position on RAC Council not expecting to be elected.
RAC members vote for Council members and I was elected in 1997 to Council, to my suprise.
